Furniture, sterling silver, art, porcelain, lighting and the occasional curiosity — chosen by hand, one at a time, in a boutique in Naples' Shirley Street design district.
faience & co.
No lots, no filler, and nothing bought by the container. Everything on the floor was chosen because it was good, and most of it came from homes in Naples and along the Gulf coast — which means the inventory changes constantly, and the best excuse to visit is that you never quite know what's arrived.
Commodes, chests, tables, desks, chairs and mirrors, mostly 18th to early 20th century, with a weakness for painted and gilt Continental pieces and anything with honest wear.
Tea and coffee services, flatware, trays, candlesticks and hollowware — American, English and Continental — that still know how to shine.
Oil paintings, portraits, watercolors and prints in period frames; looking glasses that sometimes outshine what they reflect. More on art.
Blue-and-white, Delft, faience, Chinese export, Continental and English porcelain, crystal and cut glass. Handled with two hands, please.
Lamps, sconces and chandeliers, clocks, bronzes, boxes, books and — always — the odd beautiful thing that refused to be categorized.
We are one shop, one point of view, in a shared space with two good neighbors: Sharon Lynch Collections, a gallery of original floral paintings, and our sister shop Naples Estate Jewelry. Three collections, one very good address — and a pleasant hour if you're furnishing a house, hunting for a gift, or just looking.
Designers, dealers and decorators are always welcome; ask about the trade.
Everything in the shop was bought from someone. If you have a piece — or a house — to sell, see what we buy, or our estate services for anything larger than a car load.
